# External ID in Cloud API get records

When retrieving records via the Cloud API, we noticed that the response does not include the External ID field. We rely on this field to store our custom Employee ID, as the native `Employee ID` field in CrossChex Cloud does not support string values.

Additionally, is it possible to filter the records using the External ID, similar to how filtering works with the `workno` field?
