Can i clean the Data using external DB Application

Greetings,

So, i wanted to clean my T&A DB via an external tool like MS Access or something, while the same DB is still in use.

Can i do that?

PS: I did that, used MS Access, and whenever I saved the DB, it shrank from 800MB to 100MBs. Why is that?

Hi @ViKtor,

Yes, you can use external tools.
I think you used the “Compact and Repair Database” tool of MS Access to lower the size of the database file.
That’s normal in case of MS Access database that its size can grow too large.
For example: if you store pictures in database (employee photo) then it causes bloating which will push your database to its maximum size quickly.
